The 160 room hotel with indoor pool, fitness facility and meeting rooms, serves both the Seattle Center and South Lake Union neighborhoods. With 56 apartment homes accessed from a private lobby, the project allows both the hotel and apartments to share underground parking in an efficient side-by-side configuration. The structure combines post-tensioned concrete at the first floor with load-bearing metal studs and concrete-filled metal pan deck floors for the upper floors in a cost effective and durable building system. A composition of metal panel exterior skin elements and first floor stone cladding give the hotel an urban edge.
The light filled “glass box” entry brings visitors into the heart of the Hyatt Place environment and reflects the signature Hyatt Place glass roof element. An extra wide sidewalk along 6th Avenue provides a pedestrian friendly setting for the hotel entry, sidewalk café & adjacent retail spaces.
