savannah chasing hawk

Savannah Chasing Hawk is a South Dakota native who recently moved to Seattle, WA. She attended Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, where she received her Bachelor of Architecture. While at Cornell, she received recognition in Cornell’s Seipp Competition, as well as receiving recognition for the top 10 designs for the International Triangle Fire Memorial Design Competition. She presented her research on U.S. Embassies at the 2014 Venice Biennale. Savannah’s academic focus at Cornell centered around building construction technology surrounding automatic processes and unique design involving programming robots and a particularly large concrete and foam 3D printer.

Before joining Johnson Braund, Savannah worked for a year as the head of the Metropolitan Planning Organization for the Sioux Falls metropolitan area and was a Photography Darkroom Monitor. Other prior experience includes working as an intern at both TSP and CO-OP Architecture in Sioux Falls. Savannah is a member of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe.

 Fun fact: Savannah spent most of her childhood summers either renovating old buildings or being a part of DDXpress Horse Racing.
